Start with the document’s context
Record the catalogue date, market and publisher when available. A promotional catalogue, instruction manual and service document answer different questions. An archived capture date tells you when a page was saved, not necessarily when the page was written.
Keep claims attached to their source
Write “the catalogue lists” when you are describing a printed feature or offer. That wording distinguishes a historical claim from a present-day observation about an aged item.
Do not turn old offers into current ones
Promotional points, prizes and ordering instructions belong to the program and period that published them. Keep them in historical notes, separate from any current product support or purchasing decision.
